Mindfulness doesn’t have to mean sitting still or being quiet.
For children, it often shows up through movement, sound, imagination, play – the ways they naturally explore the world.
I’m Charli Ella-Rose – a mother, holistic therapist and counsellor, and a children’s author. This blog has grown from a love of stories, creativity, and the little moments that help children feel seen and expressive.

Mindfulness in Motion (and Imagination)
Children experience life through their senses. They notice sounds, colours, textures, and energy in ways that adults often miss. Mindfulness here can be lively, playful, and imaginative – just like children themselves.
It might look like:
Noticing a favourite sound
Moving and stretching with energy
Drawing or colouring how they feel
Getting lost in a story
Pausing for a moment, then carrying on
