A Soft, Sweet & Creamy Treat from Little Hearts Cookery Club
At Little Hearts Cookery Club, we believe the simplest ingredients often hold the most magic. As part of the Little Hearts Collective family, we create gentle, nourishing recipes that invite children to slow down, explore, and enjoy the beauty of real food.
These Strawberry & Banana Yoghurt Ice Lollies are creamy, naturally sweet, and wonderfully easy to make. With just a few wholesome ingredients, they become a cooling summer treat that little hands can help prepare.

Ingredients
- 1 cup natural yoghurt (plain or Greek)
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup fresh strawberries
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
- A splash of milk (optional, for a softer texture)
- Lolly moulds
- Lolly sticks or wooden sticks
Method
1. Prepare the Fruit
Wash the strawberries gently, remove the tops, and chop them into small pieces. Peel the bananas and slice them ready for blending. Invite little chefs to help with safe, age-appropriate tasks.
2. Blend the Creamy Base
Add the bananas, strawberries, and natural yoghurt into a blender. Blend until smooth, creamy, and beautifully pink.
For a lighter texture, add a small splash of milk. If you would like a touch more sweetness, stir in a little honey or maple syrup.
3. Pour the Magic
Carefully pour the mixture into lolly moulds or small paper cups. Watch as the soft pink colour fills each space like a little edible cloud.
4. Add the Sticks
Place lolly sticks into each mould. If using paper cups, cover the top with foil and make a small slit to hold the stick in place.
5. Freeze with Patience
Place into the freezer for at least 4–6 hours, or overnight. This is a lovely moment to talk with children about patience how good things grow in their own time.
6. Enjoy the Frozen Joy
When ready, gently loosen the lollies by running the moulds under warm water for a few seconds. Serve immediately and enjoy the creamy, fruity goodness.
Cooking with Heart
These Strawberry & Banana Ice Lollies offer more than just refreshment. They gently support children to:
- Explore natural sweetness without refined sugar
- Develop confidence in simple kitchen skills
- Strengthen fine motor coordination
- Enjoy sensory learning through colour and texture
- Experience calm, mindful food preparation
At Little Hearts, we see every recipe as an opportunity to build connection between child and food, child and caregiver, and child and their inner sense of calm and curiosity.

Little Hearts Tip
Before freezing, invite your child to give their lolly a name like “Pink Sunshine” or “Strawberry Dream.” This small moment of imagination turns cooking into storytelling and food into magic.
