Cooking with curiosity
When you return to the kitchen, talk together about the ingredients in your smoothie.
Which ingredient grows on a tree?
Which ingredient is soft and creamy?
Which ingredient comes from a grain?
Which ingredient gives our smoothie its lovely golden colour?
Cooking can be a wonderful opportunity for little minds to ask questions, make connections, and discover where our food comes from.
You could even invite your little chef to close their eyes for a moment and think about the smell of the cinnamon, the sweetness of the apple, and the creamy texture of their smoothie.
There are no wrong answers here just lots of noticing, wondering, exploring, and enjoying time together.
Autumn invites us to slow down and notice the little things around us. A golden leaf, a crunchy apple, a cosy story, or a smoothie made together can all become part of a child’s autumn story.
We’d love to see what autumn treasures your little chefs discover.
Remember, every little adventure begins with a sprinkle of curiosity.
Enjoy your smoothie!
With love,
