Moon Magic Smoothie

Moon Magic Smoothie

A Dreamy Berry Smoothie from the Little Hearts Cookery Club kitchen

At Little Hearts Cookery Club, we believe food should nourish both little bodies and big imaginations. As part of The Little Hearts Collective, every recipe is created with love, creativity, and a gentle holistic approach to childhood wellbeing.

This Moon Magic Smoothie is a calming and nourishing blend of banana, blueberries, and oats, inspired by the gentle beauty of the night sky. Its soft purple colour and creamy texture make it feel like a little cup of moonlight. Perfect for breakfast, an after-school snack, or a peaceful moment during the day, this smoothie is packed with natural goodness to support growing bodies and curious minds.

Cooking with Heart

This smoothie offers more than a healthy drink. It invites children to:

  • Explore calming colours and flavours
  • Practice measuring and pouring skills
  • Support digestion and gentle energy
  • Build confidence in the kitchen
  • Experience mindful food preparation

I love creating recipes that nurture imagination, confidence, and emotional wellbeing as much as they nourish growing bodies.

Little Hearts Tip

As you blend, invite your child to look at the swirling purple colours and imagine the night sky. Ask them what shining stars, friendly moons, or peaceful dreams they can see in their magical smoothie.

Design Your Own Moon Magic Smoothie

One of the loveliest parts of cooking with children is encouraging them to become little creators in the kitchen. That’s why we’ve included a special Moon Magic Smoothie Printable Activity Sheet for your little chefs to enjoy.

Before making the smoothie with a grown-up, invite your child to imagine their very own magical blend. What ingredients would they choose? Would they add sweet strawberries, juicy mango, creamy yogurt, or perhaps a sprinkle of cinnamon moon dust?

On the printable, children can:

  • Colour in their own magical smoothie
  • Draw and label their favourite ingredients
  • Create a special name for their smoothie
  • Practise early writing and creative thinking skills
  • Explore healthy food choices through imaginative play

Once they’ve finished designing their dream smoothie, they can chat with a parent, grandparent, or trusted grown-up about which ingredients might work well together and whether they’d like to try making their creation at home.

There are no wrong answers here just lots of creativity, curiosity, and kitchen fun. Some smoothie ideas might be wonderfully delicious, while others may inspire a little experimenting and learning along the way!
